home theater dollar. The SR606 takes what
is offered in the 506 and offers some important
additions for home theaters for only a
marginal increase in cost.
The SR606 has 7.1 channels at 90W/channel
and adds decoding for Dolby TrueHD, Dolby
Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master audio for clear,
crisp lossless audio that will make your
Blu-ray movies come to life. It also
adds HDMI video processing (Faroudja) along
with an additional HDMI input for a total of
4. It also adds HDMI upconversion
capabilities. In addition it is Sirus
radio ready.
For the next step up, the SR705 has 7.1
channels at 100W/channel. The SR705 has 3
HDMI inputs and offers HDMI video
upconversion. It is THX certified and
offers Audyssey MultiEQ room calibration.
It is also XM ready.
The newer
Onkyo receiver TX-SR706 , in addition to some technical
upgrades offers 4 HDMI inputs and
1080p upscaling and is THX Select2 Plus
certified.
The SR805 boosts up the power as it is a 7.1
channel receiver at 130W/channel with 3
HDMI inputs. It is THX Ultra2
certified.
The newer
Onkyo TX-SR806 offers a total of 5 HDMI
inputs along with 1080p upscaling over
HDMI and upscaling over component to
1080i. In addition it is THX Ultra2
Plus certified.
The SR906, along with a boost of power to
145W/channel, adds an additional HDMI
output, HDMI video processing with HQV Reon-VX
and several key enhancements to the amplifier
design. It also offers network
connectivity, Zone 3 capabilities and support
for HD radio tuning.
