Panasonic has been the well respected leader in flat screen plasma tv sales and with good reason.  The Panasonic plasma tv line is known for their amazing color reproduction, with bold, vivid colors and deep blacks with excellent shadow details at an affordable price.

Panasonic big screen tv options include plasmas in a variety of sizes including 42", 50", 58" and 65" sizes along with manufacturing the world's largest plasma tv at 103".  The 42" models are very popular among plasma tv buyers and are ideal for apartments or family room settings.  For a home theater setting 42" is the minimum size to consider, however depending on the size of your room you will most likely want to consider a 50" model or larger in order to get a truly immersive cinematic viewing experience.

The specifications for each model line is very similar with the obvious exception of screen size, so lets take a look at the 50" models to help give you an idea of some of the differences between the models.

Panasonic 50" Plasma tv

Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50" 720p Plasma HDTV - This is a 720p model w ith a native resolution of 1366 x 768.  It comes in a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and offers a contrast ratio up to 10,000:1.  It also comes with SD card slot for easy picture viewing.   

Panasonic TH-50PX77U 50" 720p Plasma HDTV - This model is very similar to the PX75U except that it adds the convenience of a third set of inputs in the front of the tv.

Panasonic TH-50PZ77U 50" Class 1080p Plasma Flat Panel TV and HDTV- This model makes the jump up to full HD at 1080p with a native resolution of 1920x1080.  It also has more than twice the amount of displayable colors.

Panasonic TH-50PZ700U 50" 1080p Plasma HDTV-  The PZ700U adds 2 additional speakers and HD3D sound which may be more important for users who play their sound through the tv as opposed to through a receiver and home audio system.  The PZ700U also adds a PC input port to be able to hook up your computer to the tv.

Panasonic TH-50PZ750U 50" 1080p plasma HDTV- The PZ750U allows you to take out an SD card from an HD camcorder and insert it in the slot to play back the video.  It also adds an HDMI port to the front and allows a few additional features such as split screen display.

The plasmas can either be mounted on the wall or you could place the plasmas on a stand.  Either way, the addition of one of these affordable Panasonic big screen tvs will be sure to please those in the market for a large screen tv.
