Samsung LNT LCD Series

Samsung is widely regarded as one of the current leaders of the LCD flat screen TV market.  Samsung's series of LCD tvs consists of the LNT series.  Choosing a new HD tv set can be confusing as each year tv manufacturers seem to release a new line with a new model number.  The LNT series has a wide variety of screen sizes ranging up to a 57" model, while the 46" models are a good size to consider for your home theater.

The Samsung LNT series is highly regarded for its bright, vivid colors and crisp detailed picture.  The 1080p picture allows the tv to take advantage of the full HD picture which is ideal for HD-DVD and Blu-ray movies as well as the next generation gaming consoles or use with a computer.  The tvs support a wide 178 degree viewing angle and numerous connectivity options including HDMI with 3 HDMI connections.

Samsung 46" LCD

Just as there are various sizes to choose from there are various Samsung HD tv models to choose from as well as a wide variety of price points. 

Samsung LNT4661F 46" 1080p LCD HDTV- This is the base model, with a great picture quality and would be great for normal home theater use.  It has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio.

Samsung%20LNT4665F 46" 1080p LCD HDTV- This set is one of the most popular LCD sets on the market and can be argued that offers the best bang for the buck in the series, especially if planning on using the tvs speakers.  Although most home theater users will choose to run the sound through their home audio system, the 4665's speakers are an upgrade over the base model.  It is important to point out that the 4665 has a higher contrast ration, but some people feel that when this tv is placed in bright areas, its high contrast screen is a bit too reflective.

Samsung LNT4669 46" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV- This set, which is the newest member of the series, has SRS TruSurround for simulated surround sound and adds 120Hz technology which makes motion blur virtually undetectable.  This set is pretty much the same as the LNT4671F except that it comes with the less glossy, reflective screen which some users may prefer.

Samsung LNT4671F 46" 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV- Like the LNT4669, the big drawing point to this model is the 120Hz technology for smooth, precise action.

Samsung LN-T4681F 46" 1080p LCD HDTV with LED backlight- This is the top of the line model and adds LED backlighting for an incredible 500,000:1 contrast ratio.

If you are looking for a great LCD for your home theater, the Samsung LNT line is certainly a set that you will want to add to your short list of those HD tv sets to consider.
